Glasvegas Look Set For Number One

The Scots will be storming the album chart this Sunday with their debut disc unless Metallica stop them

Glasvegas look set to hit number one in the album chart this Sunday with their self-titled record.

The Scottish group are still not that well known but must have a big fanbase because theyve sold three times as many records as their nearest rivals The Verve so far this week.

However Metallica release their hotly anticipated LP this Friday- in an unusual move- and it's also expected to shift a lot off copies. We can't wait to see the chart on Sunday!

Meanwhile Glasvegas will play the Gonzo Tour next month headlining MTV Twos gig in Aberdeen on October 18. Friendly Fires will support.

In other news the group will play a free session and sign copies of their debut album at HMV Oxford St this Friday September 12. It begins at 6pm.

In other chart news this week Katy Perrys reign at the top of the singles chart could soon end with two challengers selling well.

Kings Of Leons first single from their fourth album Sex On Fire sits at two in the midweeks.

Alarmingly Cliff Richard is close behind with his new track I Kissed A Boy, sorry we mean Thank You For A Life Time.
