Chord Overstreet To Leave Glee

Find out which other star won’t be returning as a series regular…

Glee.

The show’s bosses decided not to renew his contract meaning that his character Sam Evans will only make occasional appearances in Glee’s third season. Although they haven’t released a statement confirming the cut, Chord tweeted on Friday: "Well it’s been a good yr too bad it’s over, time for summer and starting fresh.”

According to a report in Deadline.com, Ashley Fink, who plays Lauren Zizes, will also have her role cut back.

But there is good news - Darren Criss (Warblers frontman Blaine Anderson) and Harry Shum Jr (Mike Chang) are both being upgraded to fulltime cast members and will have more screen time in the upcoming series.

Glee creator Ryan Murphy recently confirmed that many of the cast would leave the show after their characters graduated at the end of series three.

He revealed: "The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn't want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."

But he added that ditzy Brittany, played by Heather Morris, could stay on the show if she failed to graduate. “The only way somebody could stay on the show is if they flunk, and that is always a possibility. I think Brittany is pulling straight Fs.”
