Lea Michele and the rest of the Glee cast returned to work yesterday (August 5) for the first day of filming since Cory Monteith's death.
Production for season five kicked off in Los Angeles, with a source from the show telling E! News: "Today was first day back. Last week was rehearsals but today was first official day of production on new season.
"Everything went as well as it could have. Very emotional but everyone is starting to move forward. Getting back on track."
Another production source added: "It was business as usual."
Cory's on and off-screen girlfriend Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry on the hit show, tweeted: "Couldn't have picked a more beautiful & perfect song to start the year with.."

The show's co-creator Brad Falchuk noted Cory Monteith's absence from the set, posting a photo of the empty classroom in a tweet that read: "Day one season five. Something very big missing but everyone is happy to be together and back to work."

Cory Monteith was found dead in his hotel room last month, with the [uuid=266d7142-ea05-4c0e-bc33-c7357b90c825]British Columbia Coroners Service later confirming[/uuid] he died of "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol."

Fox president of entertainment Kevin Reilly [uuid=b0221263-3af8-44d0-aabc-1db4a151b92b]recently revealed[/uuid] that the cast will film a tribute episode for Cory that "will deal directly with the incidents involved in Cory's passing and the drug abuse in particular."
