Jayma Mays On Glee Exit: "It Wasn't My Choice"
Long-serving actress admits she was written out of role involuntarily...
Glee star Jayma Mays has revealed that it was not her choice to leave the hit show.
The 34-year-old, who had played guidance counsellor Emma Pilsbury since the beginning of the show, told Metro that the show's creative team had decided to write her out.
She said: "It wasn't my choice. The creators decided to do it.
"Some other characters will also be leaving this season. It's very sad to be going but I understand why they do it."
And she also addressed the passing of star Cory Monteith - whose tribute episode was shown on UK TV on Friday.
She said: "It's been really hard. We just filmed his memorial episode and it was a very difficult thing to do. It's been a very sad and difficult year for everyone."
Glee creator Ryan Murphy recently revealed that the next series of the show will be the last.
