Epic Godzilla Trailer Gives First Proper Look At Monster
Bryan Cranston plays second fiddle to gigantic beast in promo for monster movie reboot...
A dramatic new trailer has been released for the new version of monster movie Godzilla.
Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston plays the lead role (OK, apart from the monster) in Warner Brothers' epic reboot of the Japanese classic.
But aside from the novelty of seeing Walter White with hair again, the most compelling moments from the moody two-and-a-half minute trailer involve the glimpses of the monster itself and the damage it causes.
Snippets of dialogue reveal that Godzilla was disturbed in 1954 - and suggest that later nuclear "tests" in the Pacific were actually attempts to kill the beast.
Unlike some monster flicks, the trailer doesn't keep its big reveal under wraps - ending with a good look at Godzilla's actual face.
The movie's British director Gareth Edwards has previously hinted that Godzilla may not be the only beastie in the film.
And the craftiest of glimpses of some kind of flying creature has prompted speculation among film fans that Godzilla's fellow monsters Rodan or Mothra could also be included in the film.
An earlier trailer was released last December and the film is set for release in May.
