Is Gone Girl Going To Get A Sequel?
Writer Gillian Flynn discusses Amazing Amy's return and Ben Affleck's manhood...
Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn wrapped up her twisted tale about the doomed Dunne family fairly well.
But that's not to suggest the writer isn't up for having another crack at the story.
Flynn this week revealed that she's open to penning a sequel to the 2012 best seller - and therefore David Fincher's award nominated film adaptation, which saw Rosamund Pike's psychopathic Amy get away with murder, trapping her husband Nick (Ben Affleck) in a loveless marriage in the process.
She told the New York Daily News: "There could be a sequel at some point if everyone is game to get the gang back together, it could be really fun a few years from now.
"We could pick it up and see what those crazy Dunnes are up to a few years down the road and if they got on — not well I don’t think."
Flynn added that she'd want to reunite the cast and crew of the first film.
"I would have to have the exact same people to do it," Flynn revealed. "I would want Rosamund, Ben and Fincher to do it."
The author also discussed the furore around Affleck's decision to show everything (and we mean everything) when he stripped for a shower scene in the movie.
"I was all for the cinema realite," she said. "He was a total method actor and in playing a man who got in the shower, he actually was a man who got in the shower so it seemed very realistic.
"I didn't know exactly how they would film it. I think the screenplay says they get in the shower so I cannot take credit for that.
"I went back to see it and I don't remember seeing a full frontal," she laughed.
