GOT: Jet Cancel Tour But Play Gonzo

Gonzo On Tour: Lead singer Nic is diagnosed with nodules on his throat but plays on...

Aussie rockers Jet kicked off the first night of MTV2's Gonzo On Tour at the Birmingham Bar Fly with gusto - but it nearly didn't happen.

Lead singer Nic Cester, who's recently recovered from a bout of laryngitis, was diagnosed with having nodules on his throat on Friday morning.

As a result the boys have now cancelled part of their forthcoming European tour (dates: October 14 to 25) for Nic to undergo specialist treatment.

But the battling front man decided to go ahead with the Gonzo gig anyway.

"I'm not going to be singing for two weeks while I have treatment so I gave the show everything I've got," he told us after the performance.

He wasn't wrong. Supported by the 747s and The View, the band's shamelessly catchy rock and roll tunes prompted a mass singalong. 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' predictably went down a storm.

Get well soon, Nic...
