Damon Albarn: 'Gorillaz Could Continue Tomorrow'

Musician hints that he may go on with project without Jamie Hewlett...

Damon Albarn has hinted that he could continue making music as Gorillaz, despite his falling out with cartoonist partner Blurfrontman had recently suggested that there was unlikely to be any more material from the "virtual band" anytime soon, but has now used an interview with Shortlist magazine to contradict recent reports about [uuid=40a185c4-147d-4e33-8d14-d1ecdd0c749d]his comments on the subject[/uuid].
He said: "It was very much Jamie [Hewlett] did the visuals and I did the music. The music won't change, so there could be another Gorillaz record tomorrow.
"It wouldn't necessarily have Murdoc - the cartoon aspect to it - but musically, no, nothing's changed whatsoever."
And he said he could imagine working with Hewlett again, despite their recent disagreement.
He continued: "Jamie wants to do other things and I understand, but you never know, in a few years he might have a burning desire to draw those pictures again, and as soon as he does that, as far as I'm concerned, there could be another Gorillaz album."
