Gorillaz Announce New Single Doncamatic

Which isn’t on their most recent album…

Gorillaz are set to release a brand new song as their new single on November 22.

Doncamatic (All Played Out) had its first radio play last night and was also released online via the cartoon band’s website.
The song has a disco sound similar to tracks like Stylo and On Melancholy Hill from the Plastic Beach album- which was released earlier this year.
It features keyboards and retro-sounding synths as well as a vocal from Manchester based singer Daley. Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn features on backing vocals.
Albarn told Zane Lowe last night: “Daley had been someone we’d been playing in our house and he’s got one of those voices that don’t come around very often… He’s about 22, white and has a great haircut.
“We got on really well and did this tune together. It’s fresh and upbeat and pop.”
The Blur man also revealed he’s working on a new album whilst on the road touring with Gorillaz. He said: “I’m trying to make another record, it’s quite lo-fi.”
The group play UKdates this November.
