Ben McKenzie Suffers Head Injury On Gotham Set
The former O.C. star posts pictures of himself getting stitches on Instagram...
Actor Ben McKenzie has suffered an injury on the set of the Batman prequel TV series, Gotham.
McKenzie, who plays James Gordon in the upcoming series, posted a shot of his bandaged forehead to Instagram after getting injured on set on Friday (12 September).
The star explains that he was hurt filming a fight scene - and it all happened on his 36th birthday!
"Happy Birthday to me. Fight sequence gone awry. Don't ram your head into concrete pillars kids. #gotham," he wrote.
The actor went on to poke fun at the accident, posting a close-up of the wound along with the caption: "Holy concrete wall, Batman!"
McKenzie received stitches for his head injury at the New York-Presbyterian hospital.
He thanked doctors for his treatment with a follow-up snap, and confirmed that his injury wouldn't keep him off set for long.
"Doc Sherman at New York-Presbyterian, you are a career saver", he wrote on Instagram.
"Thanks for stitching me up nice. Back to work Monday. #gotham."
Gotham debuts on Fox in the US on Monday 22 September, and will be shown on Channel 5 in the UK.
