Grand Theft Auto V 'Is Best Videogame Of 2013'

Grand Theft Auto V has been named the best retail videogame of 2013 in a poll of UK gamers.

The latest instalment in Rockstar's high-profile crime franchise dominated the opposition in an online vote conducted by Digital Spy.

It received more than a third of the total votes for best game, with 35.7 per cent of the 22,000 people who responded naming it as their fave title of the year.

FIFA 14 trailed far behind on 9.6 per cent in second spot, while Super Mario 3D World was third with 7.9 per cent.

The Walking Dead was named the best downloadable game with a similarly huge 29.9 per cent of the vote, while the PlayStation 3 narrowly beat Apple's iOS as the best gaming platform.

FIFA 14 is this year's Christmas No 1 game.
