AMAs 2016: Green Day Protest Against Donald Trump During Performance

The band had some words for Trump during their performance of 'Bang Bang'...

Green Day protested against US president-elect Donald Trump ('it still feels weird to write that')during their performance at the American Music Awards 2016.

Performing ‘Bang Bang’, from Green Day’s latest album'Revolution Radio', Green Day began chanting “No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!” during the middle of the track(in a reworking on the MDCtrack ‘Born to Die’). Watch footage of that below.

This followsGreen Day’s frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong, dissing Donald Trump during the band’s performance of ‘American Idiot’ at the MTV EMAs.

What did they do? Well, as those famous first chords from ‘American Idiot’ played out, Billie Joegave the song a 2016-tweak, altering the opening lyrics to: "Can you hear the sound of hysteria? / The subliminal mind-Trump America". To watch footage of that, head over here.

In other news,Selena Gomezmade her first public appearance since checking in to rehab at the American Music Awards last night.Upon accepting the award for Favourite Pop/Rock Female Arist, the singer took the opportunity to speak about her struggles with anxiety and depression. Click here for more.

Also, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan were both attending the AMAs. Wondering what the relationship between the two is currently like? Well, theyshook hands for approximately two nanoseconds. So it isn't exactly 'rosy.'
