Grimes’ New Song Is Like The Birth Of A Pop Butterfly
Her new track was written for Rihanna – and it shows…

Grimes has released her first new track in almost two years and my-oh-my it’s practically dripping. Laden with swag, sex and big bendy trap beats, Go marks what will no doubt be a whole new era of music for the artist previously known as the high priestess of alternative music.
Go is a collab by Grimes and producer Blood Diamonds, and was written originally for Rihanna, who turned it down. It’s a far cry from any of her previous material; any subtlety carried on tracks like Genesis and Oblivion have been shed and Grimes has emerged victorious.
It shows how well Grimes is able to tap in to what it means to make perfect pop music without losing the intrigue that makes her so fascinating. Her lightly sultry lyrics sound striking over the balls-out production of Go, and it’s making us itchy to find out what else she’s got hidden in her stash of discarded pop songs. Believe the hype below…
