Marvel Studios has launched the second trailer for its forthcoming new space action ensemble piece Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Taking a more irreverent tone than the studio's previous comic book adaptations, the trailer begins with Chris Pratt's Peter Quill failing to impress his enemies when he reveals his alter ego as "Star Lord".

Soundtracked by Norman Greenbaum's fuzz-guitar classic Spirit In The Sky, the fast-paced trailer also gives fans the first glimpse of animate character Groot - who is voiced by Vin Diesel.

Zoe Saldana's Gamora, Dave Bautista's Drax The Destroyer and Rocket Raccoon - voiced by Bradley Cooper - are all seen in action in the promo too.

And there's a hint of romance amid the action, with Pratt and Saldana seen nearly kissing.

The movie is released on 31 July in the UK. A poster was revealed a few days ago.
