Halsey Hits Out At The Use Of Anti LGBTQ+ Propaganda At Her Concerts
The singer is determined to make her concert a safe space for all fans
The singer, who is openly bisexual, has never been one to stay quiet about important issues and has now decided that she needs to be speak up about the actions of a portion of her so-called fans during her tour.
In a message on Twitter, she wrote: “People bring anti-LGBT religious propaganda to my concerts a lot and it’s like, I feel like I’ve done enough good in the world that God’s gonna forgive me for eating some p*ssy.”
This isn’t the first time she’s stood up for what’s right, having revealed in her acceptance speech for Outstanding Music Artist at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards that she deliberately uses female pronouns in her music.
“I’m a young, bisexual woman, and I’ve spent a large part of my life trying to validate myself — to my friends, to my family, to myself — trying to prove that who I love and how I feel is not a phase; it’s not part of some confusion that’s going to change or could be manipulated. So I tried really hard to find the courage this year to write female pronouns into my music.”
Fans have thrown their support behind her recent tweet and pointed out that concert-goers should know what to expect from a Halsey performance. The singer responded: “I’m happy when they leave. My show is a safe space. Plus they’re outnumbered lol.”
