Here's Your First Look At The Story For The New Star Wars Han Solo Movie

Star Wars: The Last Jedi might still be in cinemas, but in four short months we’ll have another Star Wars movie to get excited about. That’s right, Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to hit our screens in May, and Disney have just dropped the first official plot synopsis for us to pore over.

As you might expect, it’s on the vague side, but it’s still a relief to finally have some concrete details on a project the studio have been incredibly tight-lipped about. Here’s what we can expect from the origin story of the great Han Solo:

"Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course for one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes."

As we said, pretty vague, although these new details do chime with previous rumours that the film will cover Han’s first meeting with Chewbacca and how he won the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian in a card game. Hopefully we’ll get some more specifics, and maybe even a first trailer in the coming weeks.

Directed by Ron Howard and featuring the super-starry ensemble of Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover and Paul Bettany, Solo: A Star Wars Story will open in the UK on 25 May 2018.
