Daniel Radcliffe On New Harry Potter Story
Star doesn't rule out a return to the role that made him famous...
The author has published a 1,500-word short story about the character as a 33-year-old man on her Pottermore website, including a description of him as having "threads of silver" in his dark hair.
And D-Rad, now 24 himself, has already been quizzed about picking up his wand again while doing an interview for Television Critics Association's Summer Press Tour.
"My inclination is to say 'no' because I don't think it's even a hypothetical at the moment," he told the hacks via satellite link.
"What she's written - and I haven't read it yet but I will - I understand it's a very short piece.
"And he's 12 years older than I am now. I don't think I'll have to worry about that for a long time."
The short story, supposedly written by fictional gossip columnist Rita Skeeter, may be more of a dig at the media than a serious indication of Rowling's future plans for Potter.
It reads: "One always hesitates to invade the privacy of young people, but the fact is that anyone closely connected with Harry Potter reaps the benefits and must pay the penalty of public interest."
And the acerbic "author" describes Potter's trademark glasses as "better suited to a style-deficient 12-year-old" - before suggesting that his pal Ron Weasley is going bald.
