Emma Watson Met The New Hermione Granger And Has Some Seriously Magical *Feelings* About It
Emma Watson meets her replacement as Hermione Granger as she goes to see the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Play. Full story at MTV.co.uk
Something magical went down backstage at the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play in London last night and instead of just one Hermione Granger, two were spotted hanging out in the green room.
There wasn't any polyjuice potion involved in this one though and instead it saw the grown up version of Hermione, played by Noma Dumezweni in the new play written by JK Rowling, meet the Hermione we know best as Emma Watson.
In fact it was sort of like that time the gang got hold of a time turner, but at a theatre instead of with a hippogriff in a pumpkin patch.
Anyway, having scored a ticket to the sold out play, Emma headed down for a watch and from the sounds of things, it totally blew her away. Meeting Noma also seems to have been a seriously special moment for her and resulted in an emotional reaction is every bit as magical as you'd hope.
Taking to Facebook to share her feelings about the night, Emma said: "Yesterday I went to see the Cursed Child. I came in with no idea what to expect and it was AMAZING."
"Some things about the play were, I think, possibly even more beautiful than the films," she writes. "Having seen it I felt more connected to Hermione and the stories than I have since Deathly Hallows came out, which was such a gift. Meeting Noma and seeing her on stage was like meeting my older self and have her tell me everything was going to be alright, which as you can imagine was immensely comforting (and emotional)!
She adds: "The cast and crew welcomed me like I was family and Noma was everything I could ever hope she would be. She's wonderful. The music is beautiful… I could go on…"
So basically the two Hermiones are now BFFs. Now all we need is snaps of Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe posing with their respective older selves and it's the start of the ultimate HP squad.
