'Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Movie' Coming Sooner Than You Think
Expect it in cinemas by 2020.
Good news for muggles who’ve missed out on tickets to Harry Potter & The Cursed Child! Apparently Warner is looking to bring the play to the big screen sooner rather than later…
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the studio is keen to revive the franchise, given that it made them a fair few quid over the course of its ten-year run. However, things seem to be moving quicker than anyone had expected, with studio execs keen to get the film into cinemas by 2020.
Warner apparently wants to make the saga into a brand new trilogy, with Daniel Radcliffe set to be sounded out over a return to the role of Harry. We’d argue that’s pretty much a dealbreaker for any movie version of the play, but Radcliffe recently said he’d be open to the possibility, depending on the script. And given JK Rowling’s heavy involvement in the writing of the play, that shouldn’t be much of an issue…
Obviously it’s early days on this one, but we’ll be primed and ready to buy the butterbeers as soon as it becomes official. In the meantime, we can look forward to more magical fun when Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them hits our screens on 18 November 2016.
