J.K. Rowling Shares Advice For Fan Dealing With The Real Life 'Dementors' Of Depression

And it's totally uplifting.

It goes without saying that J.K. Rowling iswiser than Albus Dumbledore and more reassuring than Mrs Weasley andshe's shown this once again after a fan appealed to her asking for help dealing with the real life Dementors of depression.

If you're familiar with the Harry Potter series then you'll know that the Dementors are responsible for sucking all the happinessand life out of a room, essentially leaving the victim numb and devoid of positivity.

Comparing this description to feelings associated with depression, the fan appealed to the author for some advice.

"Could you please teach me how to scare the dementors that have been living under my bed? I'm tired of being sad all the time," the fan tweeted. "I'm tired of panick attacks and my head aching and those dark circles under my eyes."

Seeing the message, Rowling was quick to respond and has some encouraging words for the fan.

"They're bothering a unique, valuable human being who deserves happiness. Ask for help. Don't fight alone. Big hug," she wrote.

On top of her words of support, the Potter-loving community of Twitter were also quick to show the love and countless messages of encouragement flooded in for the struggling fan.

The fan in question seems pretty touched by this outcry of support andspoke out to thank everyone for their kindness.
