Potterheads, prepare yourselves, because this is the best day since they announced that Eddie Redmayne is going to be starring in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

JK Rowling has now declared that a Harry Potter play is coming to London’s West End next year… And has revealed it’s called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Taking to Twitter to share the ridiculously exciting news with fans, JK didn’t want to give away too many details, but confirmed that the play is NOT a prequel – instead it will tell the ‘untold part’ of Harry’s story.

Adorably, JK announced the news exactly 18 years ago since the first Harry Potter book, Philosopher’s Stone, was published in the UK, and now the entire fandom is suitably losing their mind.

JK is teaming up with writer Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany to help bring this new story to life, and while it’s clear that everyone’s excited about the world of Harry Potter being extended, the author has made it clear that this next chapter is most suited to being a play instead of another novel.

Well, we’ll take all the tickets, please and thank you.
