Harry Styles Calls 14-Year-Old Fan Injured In The Manchester Bombing
Just called to say he loves her.
Last week the world was shaken by a bomb attack on concet-goers - many of them young women and girls - attending an Ariana Grande show at the Manchester Arena that left 22 dead and over 50 injured.
Having grown up around Manchester, Harry Styles has been among the influential figures speaking of their shock and horror at events and held a one minute silence with fans at his show the next evening. Now, having heard that one victim injured in the attack is a fan, he's reached out and called her up to say he's thinking of her.
14-year-old Freya Lewis is a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and Sixth Form College, the same school Harry himself attended, and was left in hopsital after she was caught in the fall out of the bomb attack last Monday.
Freya was attending the show to celebrate the birthday of her friend Nell Jones, also 14-years-old, and who was killed in the bombing.
While she's currently being treated at Manchester Children's Hospital, Freya's parents have been updating her friends and their families on her progress via a blog on the school's website, and shared news of her phonecall with Harry.
“Firstly, Freya came around enough from sedation to look at her Dad, blow him a kiss and smile," they write. "Then Dad cried... Secondly, the phone rang, and it was Harry Styles. Freya woke up, Harry said he loved her, she said she loved him, then Dad said he loved him!! The PICU unit at Manchester Childrens Hospital has just been given a lift like you cannot imagine!
“Harry, we salute you sir, Holmes Chapel is very proud of you!!!!” they added.
