Harry Styles’ stepfather Robin Twist has died aged 57, as a rep confirms that he passed away earlier this week from cancer.

'Harry's stepfather, Robin Twist, sadly passed away this week after a long battle with cancer,” the statement read. 'The family asks for privacy at this time.'

Harry’s mum Anne Cox married Robin in 2013, with Harry taking on the role of best man at the wedding and even delivering quite the speech.

“I practised on my own for days beforehand, on the sofa reciting it to myself,” he said of the responsibility. “I tried to make it have a bit of everything.”

Robin also had two children, Mike and Amy, from a previous marriage, while having also been there for Gemma and Harry throughout their teenage years.

This heartbreaking news comes just six months after Harry’s bandmate Louis Tomlinson lost his mum to Leukemia age 43.
