Maccas ex wife Heather Mills has asked the public to boycott the press after she accused the media of pushing her to the edge.

Comparing her treatment to that of Princess Diana, Heather has called for the public to stop buying newspapers.

On breakfast TV this morning Heather admitted that she was close to suicide at one point and used to receive death threats.

"I've had worse press than a paedophile or a murderer Mills told the UK TV Show this morning.

"They've called me a whore, a gold digger, a fantasist, a liar,"

In a later radio interview, she continued her condemnation of the press.

"They had me on the brink of suicide, because I was contemplating that if I killed myself then my daughter will be safe, because when she's with me, maybe she's not going to be safe."

Talking about Paul McCartney she said, "I am the one that is abused daily. I have protected Paul for this long and I am trying to protect him but I am being pushed to the edge."

She then questioned, "What did the paparazzi do to Diana? They chased her and they killed her."
