Exclusive! Holly Hagan Gets Angry: "I've Gone From Too Fat To Too Thin"
The Geordie Shore star just can't get it right as far as the media are concerned...
A lot of attention has been given to Holly Hagan's body lately.
Whether she's being celebrated for her weight loss, or slammed for being too skinny, it seems the tabloids just can't get enough of the Geordie Shore star.
But while they're happy to plaster pictures of Holly in a bikini across the internet, they're not so bothered about getting the facts right.
"I feel like with the media, I've kind of gone from being too fat to too thin. There's not really been anything in between," she told MTV exclusively.
"I think for them to comment and say that I'm too thin, bordering on eating disorders… it does feel like they're plucking figures out of thin air. It gets really irritating because I know the weight that I am now - I'm 9 stone 4, and I'm 5 foot 3 - if you look that up on the BMI scale I'm bang in the middle.
"To say that I'm underweight - girls read that, and then think 'Oh, well I have to be underweight to achieve that look'. It's massively irresponsible. There are so many young, impressionable people out there that just want the truth and people do believe everything they read."
From Shore To Phwoar: Holly Hagan’s Geordie Style Transformation
To set the record straight, Holly's released a book to help us all realise that with a little hard work and willpower, we can all achieve the same thing - in a healthy way.
Her 12 Week Body Bible provides a simple, easy to follow diet and exercise plan that can help even the biggest kebab fans among us shift a few pounds.
"I always say I'm not a role model," Holly continued. "I never went out there to be somebody who young people aspire to be. But I do feel like I have a responsibility to say, 'Look, I've tried for four years to get down to this weight and it's only now that I feel comfortable.'
"I think it is important to say that the magazines are wrong and not let people believe that's the truth. But with this book, hopefully people will read it and just keep going."
Inspiring stuff, huh?
Still to come from our exclusive interview this week: Holly discusses the online abuse that spurred her on to get into shape, the attention-seeking behaviour she regrets, and how positivity means more to her these days than what the scales say.
Holly's 12 Week Body Bible is available for download on iPad from The App Store. Physical print available from Amazon.com and HollysBodyBible.com. Don't miss her crazy antics in the new season of Geordie Shore - Tuesdays at 10pm only on MTV.
