Holly Willoughby Shuts Down Ex-Apprentice Star In TV Row
This Morning presenter visibly annoyed by Katie Hopkins in class debate...
Holly Willoughby lost her cool with former The Apprentice contestant Katie Hopkins yesterday (July 3) over a row about children's names.
Hopkins' controversial comments suggested children's names were linked to class - and Holly was obviously annoyed.
Appearing on the ITV daytime show, Katie said: "I think you can tell a great deal from a name. For me, there's certain names that I hear and I think, 'Urgh'.
"For me, a name is a shortcut of finding out what class that child comes from and makes me ask, 'Do I want my children to play with them?'
"There's a whole set of things that go with children like that and that's why I don't like those sorts of children."
Shocked fellow guest Anna May Mangan described Hopkins an "insufferable snob".
And as Katie went on to criticise names such as Tyler, Charmaine and Chardonnay, Holly jumped in to say: "That's terrible, listen to what you're saying."
But the comment that really got Holly's goat was when Hopkins suggested parents who named their girls Chardonnay had probably been inspired by cheap bottles of plonk like Black Tower or Blue Nun.
She looked visibly surprised when Ms Willoughby - who recently caused controversy with her cleavage - shut her down, saying: "Oh stop, stop right there."
