Hope For Haiti Now Raises $57m

Hope For Haiti Now- the telethon organised by George Clooney and MTV- has raised £35 million ($57m) for the earthquake hit country.

On Friday night artists including Coldplay, U2, Madonna, Shakira and Justin Timberlake performed at the event.
A list celebs including Leonardo DiCaprio, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt also appeared.
Beaming in live from London Jay-Z and U2 performed their new track Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)- which will be released to raise more cash for the cause.
Other tracks played live will also be released via iTunes- including Rihanna’s cover of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song and Madonna’s stripped down version of Like A Prayer.
