Hugh Jackman: I'd Seriously Consider Playing James Bond
Aussie hunk throws his hat in the ring to play superspy...
We all got a bit excited last week when Tom Hardy emerged as the bookies' favourite to take over from Daniel Craig as James Bond - but now another A-list contender has stepped up too.
Hugh Jackman was quizzed about the role on Aussie chat show The Project, and confessed: "I'd seriously consider it."
He also confirmed that he had been in the frame before Casino Royale was made, but declined at that point due to other work.
"Just before Daniel took over... at the time I was just about to do X-Men 2 and I was like 'I don't think it's the right time' - but it was not an easy one for me to give up."
While it's exciting news for movie fans, we're not sure how well Idris Elba will take the news that he has more competition for the coveted role.
The star of The Wire was last week dismissed as "too street" by the author who has taken over the James Bond book franchise.
