Hugh Jackman Steps Out For First Time Since Cancer Scare

The Wolverine star stepped out last night in New York with his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, for a charity event. It was Deborra-Lee who advised Jackman to get a mark on his nose checked out: it turned out that mark was a basic cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer.

 

 

Yesterday, aside from a subtle bandage on his nose indicating where the cancerous mark was, Hugh looked in good spirits. He is already gearing up for a sequel to The Wolverine and told Entertainment Weekly: “There are some really cool ideas that I’m dying to tell you, but that would be giving away a secret that is not even formed yet, you know what I mean?”

 

Meanwhile Wolverine director James Mangold yesterday revealed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that he’s currently “refining that story and working on making a script.”

 

And if there was any doubt as to whether Jackman would be back to play the hirsute hero (he’s been playing Wolverine since the first X-Men film came out 13 years ago) Jackman reassured fans: “I kind of am enjoying him more than ever.”
