Ian McKellen 'To Marry Patrick Stewart'
X-Men actor set to officiate at co-star's wedding later this year...
Sir Ian McKellen has revealed that he is going to officiate at the wedding of his X-Men co-star Sir Patrick Stewart.
The veteran actors are firm friends and have worked together on stage projects as well as on the big-budget superhero movies.
And 73-year-old McKellen - who plays Magneto in the X-Men movies and Gandalf in The Hobbit films, says that he will be helping his old pal tie the knot with jazz singer Sunny Ozell later this year.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, he said: "I'm going to marry Patrick. I am going to officiate at his wedding."
When asked how that was possible, he explained: "I don’t know, but in Massachusetts, in the middle of America somewhere, you get a friend along, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married.
"I've done it once before with two guys having a civil partnership. I was crying my eyes out."
And when asked what he would wear for the big day, he revealed that last time he wore "a white gown which I bought in India".
He then added: "You mustn't upstage the bride."
Sir Patrick, 72, has been dating Ozell, 35, since 2009.
