Sorry The Vampire Diaries fans, but Ian Somerhalder has just dropped a pretty mahoosive bombshell about the show that you're not going to like one bit.

According to the chiselled actorthe eighth series of TVD will be the last, as he broke the news tothe crowd at WalkerStalkerCon in Nashville on Sunday:

"We have decided to do one last season to really do the story justice."

While it's important to remember this is still very much unconfirmed, with a spokesperson for the show telling Variety: "No decision has been made."

This comes after co-star Kat Graham confirmed that season 8 will be Bonnie Bennett's last, either way.

"Season 8 will be my last season," Graham said. "I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me. … The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go, because we are a family."

Ugh, we're just not ready for it to end.
