Ibiza Rocks Chase & Status Review

Chase & Status have an explosive set while Tinie Tempah takes on Lady GaGa...

After the likes of Dizzee Rascal and The Prodigy, Ibiza Rocks welcomed the UK’s hottest MC Tinie Tempah and super star DJ’s Chase & Status to the stage last night for an electrifying gig in the Ibiza sunset.

Tinie bounced on stage to the crowd chanting his name as he opened with Love Res before launching into smash hit single, Frisky.

The crowd went wild for the Labrinth produced track as everyone enjoyed the mass sing-a-long, with Tinie encouraging not only his audience, but those on their room balconies to come and get Frisky with him.

Tempah then took things back to his pre-Pass Out days with Tears which was well received by his crowd, even those who may not have been familiar with his previous material.

Perhaps the surprise of his set was a Lady GaGa Bad Romance cover, which the crowd went mad for, helping Tinie to sing the chorus of the huge track as the sun began to set on the Ibiza Rocks hotel.

Album track Invincible and his third single, Written In The Stars also meant another huge karaoke style session with Tempah encouraging his crowd to help him out.

Tinie had great stage presence as the audience listened to his every command, singing when he wanted them to sing and screaming his name so loud, we are sure everyone in San Antonio knew Tinie Tempah was in town!

He finished his set with number 1 single, Pass Out as the crowd threw their arms, as well as their drinks up in the air, dancing like mad to the track.

Disappearing from the stage momentarily, Tinie then emerged topless as the girls (and probably a few guys!) went crazy and the audience was transformed into a seething mosh pit.

A hard act to follow, Chase & Status brought a whole new base jumping dimension to the stage as they started their explosive set with Smash TV, followed by crowd pumping No Problem.

They were joined on stage by hot rapper Tempz for hits Saxon and Hypest Hype, which the crowd went completely mad for.

Tempz was not the only rapper to join the boys on stage. Plan B made an appearance in the form of a video projected image. As soon as the crowd saw Plan B’s recognisable face, they went crazy, transforming into an air born mosh pit.

As the immense set built to an all time high Chase & Status with soul legend Mali totally smashed it with massive hit Let You Go. The crowd went insane, jumping so high they were taking off.

After Tinie stripping off, it was only fair that the boys got a treat in the form of a mesmerising Delilah. In a stunning orange dress, she belted out tracks Time and Heartbeat, much to the audience’s delight proving that she is one to watch in the future.

The dubstep duo closed their banging set with Pieces as the crowd made the most of their last track, as everyone at the venue was sorry to see the end of an energetic gig, we can safely say we could have partied until sunrise.
