11 Parties You Have To Hit Before Ibiza Season 2015 Is Over
It's barely stopped raining in the UK this week, but lucky for us, Ibiza season is still going strong! Just a two and a half hour flight from London, the White Isle's sunny skies and sandy beaches will be welcoming music-loving revellers all the way to October (and beyond), as we all try to make summer last forever.
Heading out for the closing parties or just want to catch your favourite DJ while you can? These are our hottest Ibiza picks of 2015...
Axwell Ingrosso at Ushuaia – Wednesdays until August 26th
The former Swedish House Mafia DJs have been entertaining the masses at luxury Playa d'en Bossa hotel and beach club, Ushuaia, all summer long. With the energy of Steve Aoki, multiplied by two, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso are the party princes you wish were your best mates. Expect the dancers to be wilder, the fireworks brighter and the tunes even bigger, as the legendary duo play their closing party this week.
Avicii at Ushuaia – Sundays until August 30th
Another of our favourite nights at outdoor paradise Ushuaia, Avicii always draws in a Brit-heavy crowd, keen to hear mega hits 'Levels' and 'Wake Me Up'. With scantily clad dancers hanging from hoops over head, and some of the best mojitos on the island being served, Mr Tim Bergling brings the nights that will never die to Ushuaia.
Foam & Diamonds at Amnesia – Saturdays until September 12th
Anyone who thinks Paris Hilton isn't a credible DJ has clearly never partied with her at Amnesia Ibiza. She loves DC10 as much as you do, but that's not what her sets are about; think fun and FOAM, as this is the best foam party in Ibiza this year. Now in her third season at the super club, Paris prides herself on never playing the same set twice, though you'll be sure to recognise her pop-heavy hits.
ENTER. at Space – Thursdays until September 17th
Richie Hawtin's weekly night at Space never fails to impress – just get there early if you want to see the man himself, as it's always PACKED. We love the pre-party, where Sake is served, and one of Richie's many guests puts on an early set from 10pm on the Sunset Terrace. Go on September 10th to see Hawtin put on that early show, B2B with Maceo Plex – techno to our ears.
W.A.R! at Ibiza Rocks – Fridays until September 18th
Oh we do love Ibiza Rocks and their Friday night W.A.R! sessions. Running all the way until September 18th, with a weekly after party at Sankeys, you've still got time to catch Becky Hill, MNEK, Sigma and Hannah Wants before the season is over. Don't forget your Wednesday night gigs, either – Mark Ronson on September 9th is the one.
Together at Amnesia – Tuesdays until September 22nd
Chase & Status head up the Together line-up this summer, acting as bass-loving residents, while Defected In The House host the Terrace. Celebrating its fifth birthday this season, Together has massively come in to its own, with Skrillex, Rudimental, Gorgon City and Groove Armada all on the bill before the closing party. If you can catch Hannah Wants on the Terrace on September 1st, do it.
ANTS at Ushuaia – Saturdays until September 26th
The only place to be on a Saturday afternoon, unless you're busy rolling in glitter ahead of Zoo Project, is ANTS at Ushuaia. Expect giant (fake) ants in the pool, temporary tattoos and all the trimmings, plus a banging line-up from 3pm 'til midnight. It's our favourite party to catch Maya Jane Coles at, which you've still got time to do, on September 12th.
Aoki’s Playhouse at Pacha – Mondays until September 28th
A-O-KI! A-O-KI! If you've never watched Steve Aoki spray champagne into the mouths of his front row, or indeed cake them in the face, then you've not lived. His Monday night residency at Pacha is one of our highlights of any Ibiza visit, as he effortlessly flits between his own massive tracks like 'I Love It When You Cry', and LOL-worthy Lion King soundtrack moments/Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On'. Get down the front for the whole experience and watch yourself succumb to Steve.
Martin Solveig Presents My House at Pacha – Wednesdays until September 30th
Heading back beneath those famous Pacha cherries for Martin Solveig, you've probably figured this is a house-heavy night, though it provides a futuristic take on the genre thanks to guests like Diplo, Blonde and Mark Ronson.
Ocean Beach Ibiza Pool Party – Fridays until September 25th
Everyone loves a pool party and Ocean Beach Ibiza have plenty of them. However, Fridays are our favourite day to hit the San Antonio day party, when resident DJs Grant Collins, Sam Dungate, Jason Bye, Giuliano A.L. and Tom Crane take to the decks, and some amazing theatrics occur above the pool. That's all we're giving away... Make sure you book a bed or lounger to make the most of your 12-hour stint, and the signature Ocean Beach cocktail is our recommendation.
VIVa Warriors at Sankeys – Sundays until October 4th
Last but definitely not least, Sankeys is fast becoming one of our regular Playa d'en Bossa hangs, having grown its line-up massively over the four years since it opened. Shunning the theory that Sundays are a day of rest, VIVa Warriors and Steve Lawler have kept us dancing since May this season, with their house party doors firmly open all the way 'til October. Plus, for those moments when your legs just can't keep going, there's the Sankeys cinema! We've lost count of how many Joss Whedon films we watched in their this summer.
