Gemma Collins has revealed she went through a 'horrific ordeal' just 24 hours before heading to Australia to take part in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
In her first TV interview since her abrupt departure from camp, the TOWIE star explained why she decided to leave.
Though due to an ongoing police investigation, Gemma was unable to reveal the full extent as to what happened that made her so upset.
She told Eamonn and Ruth on This Morning: “I had been through an horrific ordeal 24 hours before I left for Australia."
“I have wanted to go into the jungle for three and a half years – it’s the job I’ve wanted my whole life.”
She went on to add why she went through with the trip, despite not being herself.
“In hindsight I never should have got on the plane to go. When I got there I was trying to be upbeat Gemma.
“The TV producers knew something had gone on but I covered it up.”
Explaining what actually happened when she left, Gemma said: “I was actually in their six days – you only saw two days on. Four days on I hit rock bottom.
She revealed that she said to the producers: “I am not Gemma, I am breaking down, I have come in here a broken woman.”
