Joey Essex's former fiancée The Only Way Is Essex blonde suggested: "If I’m completely honest I do think she might be playing up to it.

"Only because of how popular Joey is. He's so popular in everything that he does."

When asked by hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford whether she thought romance could be on the cards for the pair, Sam replied: "I don't think so."

The 22-year old went on to suggest she believes producers are disappointed that things between them haven't developed, stating: "They probably thought it would go further, but Joey’s not really a ladies’ man."

Faiers went on to admit she still loves Joey, explaining: "We always said if it wasn’t for the pressures of being on a TV show, we probably would still be together now.

"Obviously being on TOWIE you’ve got to play out your whole life and your relationship on a TV show so that it is difficult.

"When I look back at it now I think we genuinely did and do still love each other."
