I'm A Celeb: Who’s The New Jay-Z In Camp?
Guess who's been laying down some rhymes in the jungle…
Tinchy Stryder has been teaching one of his new campmates how to rap - and it's none other than Michael Buerk.
The news reader can be seen laying down some rhymes in tonight’s (27 November) episode of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
The broadcaster confessed that he knows “zero about rap” adding: “I thought it was done by sinister looking men in hoods and shades. I don't really like the sound of it, don't understand it, there is no tune to it - is it all about style?"
Tinchy advised Buerk to come up with a line about himself and put it to a beat, to which he rapped: "I'm Michael and I'm real cool, stuck in the jungle, feel a real fool. My pants are red and I have no bed."
Getting into it, Michael tried: "Jimmy's the name and football is his game," and then "We dream of curry but we don't mean Edwina; we're keen on Kendra but wish she was cleaner?"
Nadia Forde then added her beatboxing skills into the mix.
Despite fearing that his natural voice wasn’t "edgy" enough, Tinchy and Nadia said it made the rap unique.
"Both Tinchy and Nadia felt that it would be more original if I kept my existing and pompous, middle class, stuck up and middle aged prig persona because they thought that would be most effective," explained Michael.
"I don't think that Jay Z is quaking in his hand-tooled Gucci boots at this moment, but at the end of a few days who knows what may happen?"
Later Tinchy commented: "Michael is a cool dude. He's so uncool that he's cool."
Meanwhile, Melanie Sykes and Vicki Michelle got to bickering - about a pencil of all things.
The celebs were told that if they sacrificed their luxury items they could get Carl Fogarty and Jimmy Bullard's time in the “Shed of Dread” reduced from 12 to six hours.
Jake Quickenden offered his fan, Mel agreed to part with her tweezers, while Michael agreed to give up his chair.
Edwina declared: "We can manage without lipstick for a bit."
Vicki added: "And my pencil."
Mel immediately turned and asked Vicki: "You have a pencil?" to which Vicki snapped: "Shut up."
As things became frosty, Jake explained that it was an eyeliner, after which Mel calmed down and said: "I didn't know what you meant by pencil.
"I didn't know if you meant you had a writing pencil. I was jealous. Okay cool."
But then who can blame the celebs for getting tetchy when they're on short rations?
Kendra Wilkinson only managed to get one star in the Grim Gallery challenge - in which she had to put her head through a series of paintings and use her tongue to release stars guarded by jungle critters.
Despite her poor performance, she said: "I'm not disappointed in myself. I'm actually proud of myself for ever getting my head in there." She later added: "In my heart, I know I got five."
We're sure that was a comfort to her hungry campmates!
