The model and scripted reality show star is claimed by The Sun to be heading onto the ITV show, where Joey has been flirting with beauty queen Amy Willerton.
A source told the paper: "They're really keen to get her as Joey and Amy's friendship looks set to develop into more.
"So Sam turning up will throw a spanner in the works. It will be a nightmare for Joey, which means TV gold.
"Sam and Joey are pals, so there won't be a fallout at first. But there'll be tension. Who wants an ex there when you're chatting up someone?"
The blossoming friendship between Joey and Amy has already been making campmates feel uncomfortable, with swimmer Rebecca Adlington cracking a joke as Amy gave Joey a massage in front of herself and Steve Davis.
She said: "I can't take the sexual tension any more. It's so awkward for me and Steve watching you two.
