Instagram Just Added The Ability To Link And Use @ Mentions Inside Your Stories
The update we've all been waiting for.
Instagram Stories were already pretty awesome, but they've totally just upped their game with the update we've all been waiting for.
Yep, artists and some brands will now begin to be able to link from inside stories, meaning that if they want to link to a song or video or product, people will be able to click straight through without having to remember the URL and retype it into Safari.
That's not the only update being rolled out today either and the platform are also adding a way to create Boomerangs straight into your stories and allowing you to @ people inside stories so that as soon as you post, they see it and are linked too.
Need some other tips to up your Insta-story game? HERE YA GO:
Anything shot in the last 24 hours with your camera, including Hyperlapse, can be uploaded to your story. To upload, swipe down on the screen and choose from your camera roll.
ADD CUSTOM PEN COLOURS
Don't want the palette colours? Swipe the colour panel to reveal more shades and tap and hold on the colour panel to choose even more colours from a large spectrum.
STOP PEOPLE FROM SEEING YOUR STORY
You can easily hide your entire story from anyone you don’t want to see it even if they follow you by simply going to your Profile page, tapping the Setting icon in the upper right, and then Story Settings.
SHARE YOUR STORY ON YOUR PROFILE
You can also feature a particular part of your story by posting it on your profile. Simply tap “...” in the lower right hand corner of the photo/video you want to share, then click “Share as Post” (iOS) or “Share” (Android).
COLOUR BLOCK THE SCREEN
If you drag your finger down the screen very slowly using the marker tool, the colored line will turn into a box that you can then use to fill the entire screen (as long as you don't lift your finger).
If you're taking photo or video in a dark place, hit the moon icon on the bottom left of your screen and it will brighten up the environment to better capture your story.
Just look how excited 1D are about the whole thing:
You can now mute someone's story by tapping and holding their profile photo in the bar at the top of your feed. Once you mute a story, it will move to the end of the bar and it won't automatically play when you're watching stories.
Hold down on the video circle and swipe up - Capture all the details with our zoom feature.
Now go forth and Insta to your heart's desire. Or something like that.
