Tris Returns In The First Trailer For Insurgent

Shailene Woodley's heroine is haunted in the first official promo for the latest movie in the Divergent series...

[related]Shailene Woodley is back to fight another day in the explosive new trailer for the second film in the Divergent trilogy,Insurgent.

The trippy, CGI-heavy promo sees Tris try desperately to rescue her mother from a flying burning building- despite her death in the first film.

Due for release next March, the film will find Tris and Four on the run from evil Erudite dictator Jeanine (Kate Winslet), as they try to figure out the puzzle behind her family's sacrifice - unlocking the truth about their past, and the future of their world along the way.

In other Divergent news, rumour has it that plans are in place to alter the controversial ending of the series.

Fans will know that many much-loved characters meet their end in the trilogy's conclusion, Allegiant. But some seem to think that studio bosses at Lionsgate will want a happier, more family friendly version of the story for cinema audiences.

In a forum thread on goodreads.com, one fan argued: "Because the expectations and tolerance levels for a movie audience are different from a book audience.

"Because more people, different kinds of people, hell, simpler people with simple expectations -- more of them watch TV/movies than read books."

It certainly wouldn't be the first time a story was changed for a big screen adaptation, but there are currently no official grounds for this speculation - and besides, something tells us nobody wants to risk the wrath of Divergent's legion fans.

Insurgent hits screens on 20th March, 2015.
