Paramount studio bosses have announced that Iron Man 2 will be shown on IMAX screens when it is released later this year.

The film- which stars Robert Downey Jr. in the title role- is released this May.

Marvel boss Tim Connors said: “The success of the first Iron Man movie catapulted the franchise from the comic books to theatre screens, and we're excited that the IMAX format will offer fans an even more immersive way to experience the sequel.”

Iron Man 2 also stars Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sam Rockwell, Don Cheadle and Mickey Rourke.
