Robert Downey Jr Confirms Iron Man 4 Talks
Movie fans given hope of another standalone Tony Stark movie...
It looked like things were all over for Marvel Studios' standalone Iron Man movies, with several of the stars suggesting the third movie would be the final one.
But Robert Downey Jr has now made the big revelation that he's already in talks to reprise his role as Tony Stark in a fourth film.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on her chat show in the US, he was asked straight out if a fourth movie could happen - and gave an unexpected response.
He said: "I know there's going to be a bunch more Marvel movies, and they have big ideas of how to do it best, and we're in the middle of negotiations."
Ellen then interreptued him to comment: "So yes?"
To which he replied: "Okay, yes. Yes."
But Marvel bosses may have to wait to secure his services to play the iconic superhero again - because he's also just confirmed another big project.
Asked about the status of a possible third Sherlock Holmes movie during a Reddit Q&A sesh, the star let the cat out of the bag.
"Yes, we have a Sherlock 3 in development," he revealed. "We want it to be the best of the series, so that's a pretty tall order."
