5 Times Isle Of MTV 2015 Made Us Love Life

Martin Garrix, Jason Derulo, OMI, Echosmith and Tori Kelly turned up the heat in Malta...

Something amazing happened last night (7th July). Isle Of MTV celebrated it's ninth consecutive year in Malta and the stars on stage were as hot as the weather!

Jason Derulo, Martin Garrix, OMI, Echosmith and Tori Kelly all made their debut on the Isle Of MTV stage but, boy, did they kill it.

Here's why we loved every freakin' minute...

1. Tori Kelly is an absolute babe

Kicking things off as the sun began to set in Malta's stunning Il-Fosos Square, American dream babe Tori Kelly played to her biggest crowd yet, performing soon-to-be-hits from her Billboard No.2 charting debut album 'Unbreakable Smile'. And that smile...

2. We loved Echosmith's big balls

Family alt/pop rockers sent the 50,000 strong crowd of revellers into gleeful overdrive when they released dozens of massive, confetti-filled balloons into the masses after delighting us with tunes from their debut album 'Talking Dreams' including the oh-so-catchy 'Cool Kids'.

3. OMI sang Sam Smith

Jamaican chart-topper OMI (definitively pronounced 'oh-me' he told us as we chatted backstage) took us from Malta to a whole 'nutha island with some Caribbean flavoured tunes.

But it was a surprise cover of Sam Smith's 'I'm Not The Only One' which caught us all off guard before quite possibly the loudest singalong moment of the entire night came as he blasted out his absolute anthem 'Cheerleader'.

4. Jason Derulo decided to just dance along to his final track of the night

Things got steamy as Jason Derulo and his dancers delivered incredible moves, abs, killer rhythms, abs, No.1 hits and did we say abs?

Throwing out hit after hit, Derulo treated the crowd to faves including 'Wiggle', 'Ridin' Solo', 'Talk Dirty' and of course 'Want To Want Me'. The guyeven made up an entire song about Malta right there and then. #talent

Ending on brand new track 'Pull-Up'Derulo (and even his band!) decided to just let the music do that talking and dance his final number away.

5. Martin Garrix turned up the heat

Finally,19 year old superstar DJ Martin Garrix closed the night with a rip roaring set of EDM devastation.

Mixing his own smashes like 'Animals', 'Don't Look Down' and 'Turn Up The Speakers' with other huge hitters from the likes of Avicii, Galantis and more, Garrix brought all the main stage crowd-pleasers from flame throwers, lasers, confetti cannons and rocketing ribbons to end the night with a very loud bang.

Next year celebrates Isle Of MTV Malta's 10th anniversary and will be held on 28th June 2016 and we're counting down the days until we're back again!
