Jack White / Band Of Horses Live Review
iTunes Festival, London Roundhouse - 08/09/12
Seattle's Band of Horses opened the night with new single Rome track Two Against One early standouts.
One of the most captivating guitarists around, White was his usual live-wire self, jerking and strutting around the stage like Prince after too much coffee.
By the time the band finished playing the title track from White's solo album Blunderbuss they'd already given the crowd a fantastic show, and then something even more exciting happened…
As White and vocalist Ruby Amanfu performed their duet Love Interruption, his male band gradually left the stage to be replaced by the ladies in a deceptively simple piece of stagecraft, all without missing a beat.
The Peacocks then continued as White's band for the rest of the evening, and helped bring across the more bluegrass elements of tracks such as Take Me With You When You Go and Hotel Yorba.
Ending the mammoth 25 song set with a surprise blast through Seven Nation Army, White and his bands took a well deserved bow, and it's hard to imagine how they could have done more.
