Ja Rule Drugs Charge Dropped

A drug charge against Ja Rule has been dropped. The rapper was charged on Thursday with fifth-degree marijuana possession after being pulled over in New York.
Ja, real name Jeffrey Atkins, was pulled over by police early on Thursday morning after swerving in and out of lanes without using a signal, and was arrested for marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license.
He appeared at Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to the latter charge. Ja Rule paid $550 in fines and court fees, and the misdemeanour possession charge was dropped.
The rapper has also been ordered to appear in court on Wednesday for an unrelated charge. During the hearing, Prosecutors told the judge that the 28-year-old rapper had an open warrant in Queens from 1996 for resisting arrest.
