Ja Rule Gets Two Year Jail Term For Gun Possession

However, the rapper could be freed within 18 months...

Rap star Ja Rulehas received a two year jail term for gun possession charges.
The Always On Time hitmaker appeared at Lower Manhattan courthouse wearing a grey sweatshirt and according to BBC News, told his family and fans "see y'all later" as he was handcuffed and led away by the authorities.
Ja Rule, who's real name is Jeffrey Atkins, pleaded guilty to attempted criminal weapon possession last December, after cops stopped him for speeding and found a loaded, unregistered, 40-caliber semiautomatic firearm in his car in 2007.
It is thought that the 35-year old rapper could be released in around 18 months for good behaviour.
Before his his two year stint behind bars, Ja Rule spent his last days of freedom finishing his forthcoming LP, Pain Is Love, which is expected to be released later this year in July or August.

He also recently tweeted: "Out on my patio having my last free moment I love all my fans Pain is love!!!"
