YouTubers Jake Paul And Erika Costell Announce Break-up
Shane Dawson convinced us it was true love.
Jake Paul has taken to Twitter to announce his split from fellow YouTuber Erika Costell in an emotional letter addressed to his followers, “Jake Paulers.”
The duo, who both appeared on Shane Dawson’s YouTube docu-series about Jake’s life, split up a few weeks ago. They tried their “best to work it out” and “find a solution” but it just wasn’t meant to be.
Explaining the split to his 17 million followers, Jake’s statement began with: "After many discussions and some serious soul searching, it became apparent to us weeks ago, that we could no longer be boyfriend and girlfriend."
"While it was a truly heartbreaking decision, it is the healthiest thing for both of us."
“Erika is such a beautiful soul and she truly changed my life. She is a powerful, smart, and independent woman, who has such a bright future ahead of her and has helped me become a better person on multiple levels,” he continued.
Jake went on to say how “grateful” he is for the time he got to spend with Erika and called it “irreplaceable.” Too sweet.
He finished up the announcement by asking for privacy while himself and Erika navigate through their split: “We're both at different points in our lives & having a relationship in the public eye is so hard. But this is our decision & I ask that you please support both to us through this tough time.”
Erika’s yet to comment but Shane Dawson didn’t miss a beat, jokingly tweeting: “Just when I started enjoying my break! Alright.... Andrew grab the camera. I'll call the uber."
It’s good news that Jake is wanting to keep the split amicable. That’s growth.
