Behold! Heat Magazine's Weird Crush Winner Of 2015
Jake Wood might have crashed out of Strictly Come Dancing at the semi-final stage last year, but he's come up trumps in Heat magazine's annual "Weird Crush" poll.
The 42-year-old EastEnders actor beat off unconventionally attractive competition from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Countdown host Richard Osman to lift the trophy (please tell us he gets a trophy!) for the first time.
He gushed: "I'm absolutely honoured. It's the award I wanted to win more than any other. I'm so happy I won.
"Thank you to the people that voted for me. I'm doing it for the weird crushes all over the world. Ginger, tall, freaky looking guys with a sexy glint in their eyes, that's me."
Editor-in-chief Lucie Cave commented: "Heat's Weird Crush celebrates that fact that sexy comes in all shapes, sizes and degrees of hair loss – so we're delighted that our readers voted Jake Wood their winner.
"That he is both bald and red-headed, qualities seen by the foolish as a bar to hotness, is a ringing endorsement of the Weird Crush campaign."
8 Out Of 10 Cats comedian Jon Richardson placed second, with Osman third and last year's winner Matt Richardson fourth - while ginger pop ninja Sheeran rounded out the top five.
Despite a social media campaign to win himself support in the contest, Piers Morgan could only manage a paltry six votes.
