Jamelia Buries Hatchet with Lily
She's up for a Brit but she's backing one time tormentor Lily Allen...
We like to see celebrities put a spat behind them and Jamelia's doing just that by backing Lily Allen to pick up best female at this year's Brit Awards.
The pair had a verbal kerfuffle last year after Jam asked the gals' record label Parlophone to make a clean version of Lily's 'Alright, Still' album for her daughter, Teja.
At the time an incensed Lily told us, Maybe she should pay for that to get done herself. Its not coming out of my expenses."
And sources at a recent recording of Never Mind The Buzzcocks which starred both girls, told us the atmosphere between them was decidedly frosty.
So it's nice to see Jamelia has let bygones be bygones.
Talking to MTV News, the 'Beware Of The Dog' diva said, "Im really happy with the nomination. But I would love to see Lily win. Lily will walk away with it. She definitely deserves it."
And the compliments didn't end there.
"Lily is a huge character," she told us, "but I think thats what makes her and gives her, her appeal. She is a brilliant artist as well."
The Brummie babe talked to us at the launch of the Body Shop and MTV's limited edition perfume, 'Rougeberry' on Thursday (January 25), as part of MTV/Body Shop's 'Spray To Change Attitudes' campaign.
The campaign is aimed at encouraging and empowering women to look after their sexual health with all proceeds from the perfume's sale going to MTV's Staying Alive foundation.
Jamelia said, "I get asked to front a lot of campaigns but this one stood out."
Good on ya, lady...
