James Arthur's new single Susan Boyle style "meltdown" after winning the X Factor.

Arthur told The Metro: "I thought, 'Who am I meant to be now? Who do people want me to be?' I did have a Susan Boyle thing to be honest.

" I defy anyone whose life has changed that much, and that dramatically, not to have a meltdown at some point.

"I crashed like I'm sure everybody who's come from the show did. I had my few days of depression and like, 'What the hell just happened?'"

Arthur went on to add that he became "anxious" after hitting the big time, stating: "I know it's ridiculous... you dream of this your whole life. I didn't know what I was supposed to do.

"It was only when I got back in the studio and started expressing myself again that I was able to separate all the craziness from who I was before."
