Ouch! James Arthur Revealed Both Rita Ora AND Ellie Goulding Turned Him Down

The 'Impossible' singer has revealed that both Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora turned down his offer... not for a date but for a music collaboration.

James is back in the spotlight with a new album on the way after being re-signed by Simon Cowell, but there's no doubt that it's been a rocky few months.

The 28-year-old admitted that it wasn't easy trying to get people to collaborate with him including ex Rita Ora (who he dated back in 2013) as she simply never returned any of his calls. The cheek! 

He revealed: "It was tough to get people involved in this one, because I don't think anyone expected me to come back."

Adding: "I was calling Ellie Goulding and RIta Ora, all these guys saying 'Do you want to sing this line?', I got nothing."

James previously struggled to cope with his rise to fame after winning X Factor in 2012 and having their biggest selling single. 

He revealed: "My lowest point was being addicted to prescription drugs, cannabis and alcohol. I was using anything I could as a crutch to cope with the pressure I was putting on myself to be what I was billed to be."
